We interviewed Robert and here are his responses to the questions we asked
What made you choose the IFPA?
I chose IFPA because they were one of the few organizations that were world renowned.
If you have taken more than the PFT course, what has been your favorite certification course?
WOW haven’t taken them all, but I did enjoy completing the Sport Medicine Specialist Cert.
How long have you been Personal Training?
I have been certified now for 13 years.
What is your best success story?
I had been training a doctor who started her own practice and she gave a session to her husband and said to me “I just want his shoulder back to the way it was when we got married.” After training for about a month with him, I was driving to see my daughter (of course back then the cell phone hit a dead zone) when I received a message from him. Upon clearing the dead zone, I listened to the message and it said “In Cali doing a presentation and I just want to say thank you, everyone said I LOOK GREAT and my wife loves my shoulders again. Can’t wait to train on Monday, see you soon.”
What qualities set you apart from other personal trainers? Education? Experience?
” NO ” and ” I CANT ” are not an option. I’m also still going to school because there is more to learn. I will take on any challenge when it comes to helping someone reach their goal.
How do you envision growing your personal training business?
My own training center, teaching other Personal Trainers, authoring books and more…
What is your best advice to someone just starting in the business?
Training as many people as safely as you can (some free sessions) but make sure that every hour you are in the work place it’s BUSY.
What made you choose a career in personal fitness training?
I didn’t want to be Fat (I DON’T LIKE FAT ON ME) and IT’S FUN TO HELP OTHERS and make money while doing it.
What aspect of personal fitness training do you like most?
Watching the joy on someone’s face when they reach their goals…that’s the best!!!!
