Strength and Conditioning for Young Athletes

The Strength & Sports Conditioning for Young Athletes continuing education course is designed to further the knowledge of all fitness professionals with an emphasis on strength training and sports conditioning training for young athletes. This is not a certification course. It is an educational program to be used by all fitness professionals striving to raise their level of professionalism.

For each stage of development a child goes through, there is a corresponding phase of athletic training. This program will assist you in designing conditioning regimens specifically for children and especially for those having potential of a future sports star. To maximize a child’s coordination, flexibility, speed, endurance, and strength, over 300 exercises are included to create safe and effective training programs. In addition to invaluable conditioning advice to create an overall fitness base, this course will provide you with excellent suggestions to reduce stress during competition and prevent early burnout. The subject matter in this course includes:  training guidelines for young athletes, stages of athletic development, flexibility training, motor skills training, speed training, strength and power training, endurance training, excelling in competition and much more!

  • Learn the safest most effective strength training exercises for young athletes, ages 7-18
  • Learn the safest most effective weight and equipment for young athletes, ages 7-18
  • Learn how and why young athletes, ages 7-18, should train with weights
  • Learn how to dispel all the myths about “children should not lift weights”
  • Learn the safest most effective strength training programs for young athletes, ages 7-18

  • Know how to design strength training programs for all major muscle groups and 16 sports
  • Know how to safely and effectively teach and execute 100 strength exercises, structured especially for kids ages 7-18
