Meatballs and Marinara Recipe

Meatballs and Marinara Recipe! The beauty of this dish is there are many ways to enjoy it!

Meatballs:

Ingredients:
1lbs lean ground beef
1lbs Italian mild sausage
1 egg
¼ cup Italian bread crumbs
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
2 tsp dried oregano

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix all ingredients
Form into balls about 1 ½ inches in diameter
Place on baking sheet
Bake for 15 minutes
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

While Baking, start marinara.

Marinara:

Ingredients:
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes (we recommend Contadina)
1 6 oz can tomato paste
42 oz of water
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp basil (dried or fresh)
1 tbsp parsley (dried or fresh)
1 large onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil
Cook until translucent
Add tomato sauce and paste, stir
Add water and all seasonings, stir and cover
Cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour stirring occasionally.

Once meatballs are finished cooking, you can either add them to the sauce and let them simmer with the sauce, or you can also leave them in the oven (turned off) and keep them warm until the sauce is done.

When dining, you can eat this as is, with a side salad, or over pasta.
